I'll overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Former two-time unified title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers met for the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
